Got to love when a beer gives you instructions that involve the words “party” and “forever”.
The first two commandments were to taste from Can A and taste from Can B then combine the two in the third act before the aforementioned partying forever as the finale.
As I pulled the tab to seperate the two cans I want so sure “forever” would really cover the two very small (250ml) cans I was left with.
Can A: the Rhubarb Sour, goes as sours go. Not really one of the better ones I’ve ever had and the only hint of rhubarb I could get was in the lingering aftertaste. It didn’t really grab me at all.
Can B: Apple Crumble Sour, so incredibly delicious I almost immediately regretted that I only had 250ml of it and whatever I had left of the horrible Can A (no longer deserving of its proper name) still to drink. The flavour is so easy to savour the crumble theme flows throughout and the aftertaste gently humbles.
Combing the two: A massive improvement on Can A and a somewhat downgrade on Can B, which I guess works because Maths? But overall drinkable and generally enjoyable. The crumble overwhelms and conquers the contents of Can A but allows some of it’s smooth flow through to your tastebuds while leaving you with a satisfying apple desert finish.
3/5
I would have enjoyed it more if only the Rhubarb Sour wasn’t so horrible. Also maybe make it 500ml cans instead of those cute but too small 250ml ones.
